David R. Silvers was born in New Orleans and received his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in 1979. He completed his Residency and Fellowship in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology in 1984 at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American Gastroenterology Association. Dr. Silvers is currently a member of the active staff for East Jefferson General Hospital.
Dr. Silvers is currently on the Board of Directors at East Jefferson General Hospital and has been in active clinical research for more than 20 years. He is an Associate Clinical Professor of Tulane University School of Medicine. He maintains active membership in numerous professional organizations, including the American Gastroenterology Association, American College of Physicians, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American College of Gastroenterology, Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America and the American Medical Association.
Dr. Silvers has authored numerous articles and has participated in more than 250 clinical trials. He continues to lecture for the private medical industry and travels throughout the world as a lecturer in gastrointestinal disorders. He was recognized as a professional with outstanding abilities and featured in the “Best Doctors” issue of New Orleans Magazine.
