Steve F. Price, Jr. was born in Washington, D.C., and received his medical degree from the LSU School of Medicine in 1972. He performed his Gastroenterology Fellowship at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md., from 1975 to 1977. He received his Board Certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine in 1975, and his Board Certification in Gastroenterology in 1977.

Dr. Price served in the U.S. Navy from 1973 to 1980 and maintains an active membership in professional organizations including the American College of Physicians; the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy; the Orleans Parish, Louisiana State and Southern Medical Societies; the American Medical Association; the American Gastroenterology Association; and the William Beaumont Society of Military Gastroenterologists. Dr. Price acted as chief of the gastroenterology section, internal medicine services, at the Naval Regional Medical Center in Oakland, Calif. He entered private practice at the Mahorner Clinic in New Orleans until founding Metropolitan Gastroenterology Associates in 1983.

Scores of articles authored by Dr. Price have been published in various professional journals. He continues to give educational lectures throughout the country and regularly attends seminars and workshops presenting the latest information on developments in the field of Gastroenterology. He was recognized as a professional with outstanding abilities and featured in the “Best Doctors” issue of New Orleans Magazine.
