Many things can cause inflammation in the liver, such as alcohol use, fatty liver and chronic hepatitis. When this inflammation is persistent, it can result in progressive scarring of the liver. Ultimately, this scarring can result in cirrhosis, where the liver begins to lose its ability to function properly.

A cancer of the colon or rectum. Colon cancer in the early stages is usually not symptomatic. As it progresses, symptoms may occur. Some commonly experienced symptoms include change in bowel habits, stool consistency, blood in the stool, abdominal discomfort and anemia. Early detection is the key to curing colon cancer.

A chronic inflammatory disease of the GI tract. It primarily affects the ileum (last part of the small intestines), colon, and rectum. It can cause ulcerations in the bowel and lead to complications such as bowel obstruction or perforation. Symptoms are typically abdominal pain, diarrhea, weight loss, and bleeding.
